Internal Whitening
It is a kind of whitening for discolored teeth that have undergone endodontic treatment. Unlike other types of bleaching, inner bleaching is for special cases of discoloration. After the initial assignment we will indicate if this treatment is recommended for you.
The cure
The dentist first examines the tooth and then a radiograph indicates whether the endodontic treatment is of high quality as it is important that the bleaching agent does not penetrate the root of the tooth.
Original photos also offer a color chart that is later used to check the discoloration. As soon as the tooth is judged suitable for internal whitening, a small cavity is opened at the back of the tooth and the pulp chamber is exposed. After the quality control of the endodontic treatment, a suitable base liner is placed on top and the bleaching gel is now internally placed and activated.
Finally, a temporary filling seals the bleaching agent inside the tooth for 2-3 days. After the first visit, the dentist again allocates the color to the tooth, and usually the treatment is repeated 2 or 3 times.
When the discoloration is very intense and the color is not close enough to the neighboring teeth, then other treatments are suggested. At the end of the treatment, a composite resin filling provides ultimate, permanent blockage and protection. The combination whitening here with trays on the outside of the tooth and the whitening agent on the inside enhances all results.
